In my previous post, I discussed the importance of implementing a self-care routine to promote self-love. In case you missed it, you can read it here. So, to add to the topic, I would like to discuss having a self-care routine and share some favorite items or products from my personal routine. Hopefully, this will give inspiration to all of those who are unsure of where or how to begin.
To start, I suggest that you choose a day free of any obligations or household chores. A day that you can fully dedicate to yourself. I’ve always preferred to do my routine on Sundays because it helps me refresh for the week ahead. Your routine does not have to be time consuming but do give yourself some uninterrupted time. If possible, implement this routine weekly. However, if once a week doesn’t fit your schedule, at least attempt to commit to your routine twice a month. You’ll be happy you did, trust me.

The benefits of a regular self care routine are….
- Helps you unplug from rigorous day to day activities
Unplugging from daily chores and duties is necessary and helps to de-stress from the hustle and bustle of the day.
- Promotes self-awareness
When you routinely make yourself a priority it only increases your self-awareness, what truly makes you happy, and what is most important to you and your well-being.
- Rejuvenates and Refreshes
Once you feel rejuvenated and refreshed you are most likely motivated to do more and achieve your goals
- Encourages gratitude
Taking time to practice a self-care routine also aids in self reflection which in return will encourage gratitude for the things that are most important in your life
- Promotes peace of mind and clarity
A regular routine will eventually have a positive impact on your mental health. Benefiting in more peace and a clearer mind having the ability to create more and better decision making skills

ADDITION TO YOUR SELF-CARE ROUTINE
In addition to having a self-care routine, I also would like to add how important it is to factor in a little “girl time”. Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a fun event that was dedicated to wonderful women who just “needed a break”. Courtney Covers Cleveland is a fellow Cleveland blogger who is dedicated to showcasing all the wonderful things the city of Cleveland has to offer. Her mission is to showcase how great the city is and demonstrate all that Cleveland has to offer by putting together events that caters to everyone. The best part about this event was that there were women from all walks of life, mothers, wives, entrepreneurs, and the list goes on. Surely as is a woman’s roll. So, I believe it is just as important to have a self-care regimen as it is to have girl time with positive like minded women.
To conclude, customize a self-care routine that will work for you and your schedule. Make it a priority to take care of yourself regardless of whether or not it’s indulging in a fancy routine. However, the goal is to make time for you and to indulge in something that brings you peace and exalts gratitude. So, hopefully this post was an inspiration to dedicate time to yourself.
