5 Ways To Make Father’s Day More Memorable

To the world you are a dad, to our family you are the world.

Father’s Day is near and just as in previous years, the fellas always seem to get the short end of the stick. There is no denying the fact that Father’s Day is not highly marketed as well as Mother’s Day. If you by chance missed my previous post about Mother’s Day, read it here. The days leading up to Mother’s Day are filled with numerous ads, and every gift suggestion possible to make sure your loved one feels special that day. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case for dads. So, before writing this post I did a little research just to see what was out there. I’ll have to admit it was pretty sad. There was nothing much more than the typical cheesy DIY gift ideas. No offence to the DIY lovers, they are great ideas as gifts from the kids! But let’s step it up a notch.

For this reason, I wanted to change the narrative. So, in this blog post I decided to develop a short list of 5 creative ways to make that special guy in your life feel appreciated on Father’s Day. WARNING! This list is geared towards the wife or significant other treating their spouse/partner, rather than the children gifting dad. Therefore, keep that in mind while you’re scrolling through this article. Without further ado, let’s get into the list.

1. Treat him to a spa day

This can be a treat to an actual spa or you can create your own spa experience in the comfort of your home. I prefer the later. Couple massages are great, but ladies remember this day is all about him. If you opt for the private spa at home, don’t forget to be creative! While creating an relaxing environment, treat your guy to an invigorating body massage and have his drink of choice nearby. Also, offer services that wouldn’t normally be appropriate for the typical day spa. It’s okay, don’t be shy! Just make sure the kids aren’t home.☺️

2. Plan a romantic staycation

Stay-cations are becoming more and more popular these days. As, they are easier to plan and more budget friendlier than planning some grand vacation out of the country. For that reason, why not rent a room at a nice hotel for a day or two? Get out of the room and explore the surrounding area or lock yourselves in the entire time. Either way it’s a win win! 🤷🏾‍♀️

3. Hire a private chef

Why go to an overly crowded, over priced restaurant to spend all your money? A great way of utilizing your time and money could be hiring a chef for the night. Plan a few activities during the day with the kids. Afterwards, put them to bed or send the them away for the evening to enjoy a romantic dinner date with your man!

4. Take a sexy photo shoot

In my opinion, Boudoir shoots are absolutely amazing! However, this one is for the risky and brave at heart. A sexy photo shoot will take some planning ahead to ensure that you’ll have your perfect picture packaged and ready to surprise your man on Father’s Day.

5. Plan a nice gathering

Throw a small intimate gathering or cookout at home. Invite all of his friends and other dads to the party. Provide the ability for him to enjoy some “guy time” and celebrate the day with other fathers, all in the comfort of his own home. The ladies can cook for the fellas or just opt for ordering takeout. Pretty simple.

In closing, I hope through this post I’ve encouraged your creativity wheels to flow. I’m positive that any thing on this list will surely get you major points from your spouse. However, if by any chance nothing listed is an option for you, it will be an awesome birthday gift. Either or, I’m sure whatever you choose to do, he will genuinely appreciate it. We all really just want to be recognized and appreciated for our efforts every now and then. If there’s anything that I’ve missed or if you, yourselves know of other creative ways to celebrate Father’s Day, please share! I would to hear about them.

Thanks Loves!

    Great post!
I have to listen to My husband complain every year that the father’s are not appreciated nearly as much as mother’s.

    1. Thanks, happy I can help! Now you have a few ideas to show him otherwise. Use a different one each year! Lol 😝
